Janine Batiste writes futuristic and science fantasy, inspired by her fascination with the abundance of possibilities surrounding our real-world future. Her active imagination drove her to writing, a constant through frequent relocations across the USA during her childhood. In 2009, she wrote her first full length manuscript in less than 30 days, and has never looked back. With a bachelor’s degree in biology, a penchant for books, superheroes, and anime, as well as a love for platformer and JRPG gaming, her stories are immersive, fantastical tales of adventure and friendship.

Currently, Janine is working on her debut, Spark and Blizzard, a YA science fantasy series with a nature focus and solarpunk setting, full of magic and unique characters. When not writing the latest heart-pounding story, Janine is usually exploring her current home of South Florida, crafting her latest culinary dish (many of them being chocolate-filled writing fuel), or gaming (some on her Twitch channel).
